Estoy tomando 6 horas de clases un día y es caro. Por eso estoy tratando y pensar en Español y solamente estoy hablando o pensando en Inglés durante este blog.
The rest will be in English. Entonces no preocupes. (Therefore don't you worry) So for those that don't know which is probably quite a few of y'all out there I'm here in Mexico City for two reasons. 1. I think it's a cool City. 2. To get my Spanish Game up.
So I'll give a brief recap of the two days (and three nights) thus far and in subsequent blogs I will talk about things more interesting.
1. El Vuelo (the flight)
From Houston was a little less than two hours. Pretty smooth until the end when there was quite a bit of turbulence. Which is a perfect transition to the second part...
2. The weather so there have been thunder and lightning storms every day that I've been there. This was the case when I landed hence the turbulence and according to the weather forecast will continue.
3. Arrivals. So I stayed the first night in Hotel Stanza. It was just by chance RIGHT down the street from where I stayed before. The hotel seemed elegant from the outside and had bellmen etc but the rooms were very normal. Check out was at 2pm which was great because I only had to leave my bag at the hotel for about 2.5 hours. The next day I went to my class and after my class I went back to the hotel. My Airbnb is near the school, so I had to go about 15 mins out of my way.
Things then got interesting. The airbnb address on was wrong or there are two of the same address. Haven't figured it out yet. Either way, I ended up about 3/4 of a mile away from my airbnb by a nice little shopping area. Maybe 5 m seeins after getting dropped off it started POURING! Long story short I ended up slightly wet and tried to wait it out in a little shopping area that was covered. I grew impatient and started walking in the right direction. (My host sent me a photo on Google maps of the right location.) Not of the better ideas I had. After getting pretty wet I said forget it and got an Uber. Which was a good thing because it was a little further than I thought.
The couple I'm staying with is crazy nice. Their spot is right on the edge of one of the hippest neighborhoods in Mexico City. I'll talk about the specifics of their place in another entry.
Anyway, it's late, I'm tired and I have class in the morning. Entonces voy a dormir. (Therefore I'm going to sleep)
Buenas Noches!
